We are looking for an experienced, self-driven Embedded Software Engineer to strengthen our team, Thermal Management Application SW. Our team is responsible for the design and development of the application SW, controlling the complete thermal management system, and the calibration and tuning of it. Meaning that we are responsible for Cab Climate and the Coolant loop functionality covering all sites and truck brands. What will you do? As an Embedded SW Engineer you plan your work according to the agile SAFE principals together with your team. The main responsibility of the team is the development of the Climate Controller, realizing functionality that has a direct customer impact. Within the role you will work with both new development towards future feature/function growth and with maintenance improving the system already on the market. You will have the opportunity to collaborate a lot with many surrounding teams like the system performance and EUF team, Base I/O team, testing facilities, testing teams, workshops, and more. Share your knowledge with others - Good networking skills on a local and global basis and you have an ability to understand and accept cultural differences - Good communication and presenting skills both in text and verbally (English) Relevant Experience: - Master’s Degree in Computer, Electrical/Electronic or similar - Embedded SW development experience - Experience with control strategy and SW verification - Experience of functional verification and system tuning/calibration Meritorious to have: - C or CE Truck Driving License - Knowledge of Automotive Climate system - Experience in SIL/MIL/HIL testing - Experience in Matlab, Simulink, TargetLink, Jenkins, Embedded Coder, C, C++, Python - Knowledge in planning, performing, and analyzing results from rig or vehicle testing (position typically requires 12+ years of relevant experience) Recognized as an expert in their disciplinePerform functional development meaning requirement breakdown, software design, documentation, implementation, testing and verification. Specialize in a technical domain (Vehicle, HMI, Combustion, Engine After treatment, Electro mobility, Powertrain control, Control Theory, Mechatronic, Diagnostics) in which features are developed. Lead system engineering in a technical team and play an active role in the delivery. Integrate deliveries from others. Responsibility for securing quality and readiness before release. The deliveries are often focused on the early phases of the development cycle, developing technical roadmaps. Network across the organization, as well as influencing the work in the other sites. Develop acquired competence, as well as participate in the business development. On Senior Expert level the employee is recognized both within and outside the organization as thought leader in area of expertise. (position typically requires 12+ years of relevant experience) Master contributor to the education and development of others within Volvo Group - Has uptodate understanding of market trends and able to leverage strong internal and external networks to remain ahead of the game - An ambassador of the TD/BA who adds value through clear articulation of fresh, futurefocused links between their area of expertise and other parts of the industry.
